Very moody and warm feel with some recognizable background elements. Feels very romantic and home-y. Needs a dark location like an old cabin.

Moody and industrial. Cooler tones are perhaps a little aggressive, but a pretty cool look here.

Pitch blackness with warm light and a splash of color. Makes it feel a bit more stage-y, maybe a little dive-y.

Probably the easiest look to pull off. Normal house, with light colored walls, shot at night to create warmth and mood.

Also fairly easy to pull off given the right location. Filmed at night for easy mood creation.

This has a very blue-collar working musician vibe to it. Pretty easy to pull off.

These are just some random references that might get your mind moving a little.

Lastly, here’s a screen grab from a video I recently shot to send to a client. This is in my basement/office and was achieved by blocking out the two small windows and then throwing a bunch of lights up. Even though this room has bright color walls, I was able to get it dark because it had small windows that I could easily block out and frame out. The important thing is that this room is quite large, making it easier to get a definitive look. Adding in lamps would be cool.
